The only way I passed statistics in college was in that the test was at 6PM each week and the baseball team took it at noon because of their night games and I had a test copy for several hours. Always 10 Q’s but could never get more that 6 right most times, sometimes 7 or 5 correct. In Florida they expect kids to have mastered algebra 1 at end of eighth grade and then the upper maths start. The ed leaders expect everyone to be on the college track and so many kids cannot do these maths, their chances for a 2.0 to graduate is impossible with the F’s and they drop out. I am BA and two MAs and I can’t do algebra 1. I tried to lobby with state and county to make bookkeeping and accounting math credits but was shut down hard.
It is not my cup of tea either, but I can enjoy a fraction here or there, now and again.
